McKenith named preseason All-Peach Belt Conference:

Senior guard Mylea McKenith was named to the women’s basketball preseason All-Peach Belt Conference Team, conference officials announced Tuesday. This is McKenith’s second consecutive preseason all-conference selection.

McKenith earned second-team all-conference in 2016-17 and was named the PBC’s co-Defensive Player of the Year. The Durham, N.C., native missed all but five games last season with an injury, but averaged 16.2 points per game in her last full season. As a junior, McKenith finished eighth in the league in scoring, led the conference in steals, was ninth in assists, fourth in field goals and 10th in three-point percentage.

In Bearcat career, McKenith has racked up 1,035 points and her 220 career steals put her just 45 steals shy of the Lander career record. For her career, McKenith has averaged 10.7 points per game, with 2.9 rebounds per contest.

The Bearcats begin the regular season against Lenoir-Rhyne in Jefferson City, Tenn., on Friday, Nov 9, at 5:00 p.m.
