Lander places five on Peach Belt Conference All-Academic team:
The Lander women’s soccer team landed five players on the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic team, the league office announced on Thursday.
Chloe Le Franc, Brennen McCarthy, Hannah Sinner, Brianna Taylor, and Juliette Vidal were honored by the conference as all-academic performers, the most for the program since 2014.
To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must: 1) participate in at least half of his/her team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor, 2) achieve a 3.3 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), and 3) have completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution.
Le Franc, a sophomore computer science major from Nantes, France, has tallied two goals and one assist while starting all 14 matches this season.
McCarthy, a sophomore business major from Clifton, Va., has made 14 starts this year and attempted six shots.
Sinner, a junior exercise science major from Lake Wales, Fla., has appeared in all 14 matches this season, making 13 starts.
Taylor, a sophomore business major from Delran, N.J., leads the Bearcats with nine goals, four game-winners, and 24 points this season.
Vidal, a sophomore computer science major from Lille, France, has posted eight goals and four assists on the year.
