Lander wins four titles at South Carolina Men’s Collegiate Championships:
The Lander men’s tennis team completed a successful weekend at the South Carolina Men’s Collegiate Championships as the Bearcats claimed four titles at the event.
Thomas De Negri won the Kriese Singles Draw, defeating Justus Lehmann from Coker in the championship, emphatically taking the final set 6-0. Philippe Courteau was the champion of the Cabri Singles Draw, knocking off Winthrop’s Hunter Benefield for the title. Courteau did not drop a set in his four matches.
Liam Roos cruised to a title in the Scarpa Singles draw, dropping just seven games in three matches to win the championship, where he beat Austin Green from Anderson. In the Demars Doubles Draw, Gabriel Balestero and Axel Cronje won the title over Coker’s Hunter Horton and Issac MacMillen.
The Bearcats begin their spring slate on Feb. 2 at Georgia Gwinnett.
