Krafka collects Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week honors:

Freshman outside hitter Kaitlyn Krafka has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Krafka propelled Lander volleyball to two wins last week over rival Erskine and conference foe Augusta.

Against the Flying Fleet, Krafka put up a match-high 19 kills to go with 18 digs for a double-double. She hit at a .294 clip and contributed two aces in the win.

In Friday’s match against Augusta, she added a match-high 20 kills to go with 18 kills, a block assist and an ace.

On the week, Krafka averaged 4.54 points per set, 4.23 kills per set and 3.46 digs per set.

This is her second weekly conference honor of the season and fourth for Lander as a team this year. Krafka is the first Bearcat to earn multiple Player of the Week honors in a single season since Melissa McCracken in 2009. Lander’s four weekly PBC honors has tied the program record for the most in a single season. The Bearcats garnered four weekly awards in 2009 and 2014.

Lander travels to Converse at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon and faces Emmanuel on the road Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.
