No. 20 Lander in ninth after two rounds at Jay Jennison Cup:
The 20th-ranked Lander men’s golf team posted a 590 during its opening two rounds at the Jay Jennison Cup on Monday to move into ninth place.
The Bearcats are currently just eight shots away from the top-three after 36 hotly contested holes at the par-72, 6,939-yard World Golf Village Slammer & Squire Course.
Lander’s Jon Parker led the Bearcats, responding from a 5-over 77 in the opening round with a 4-under 68 in the second round to move into a tie for 15th.
Maxime Legros and Conor Cull both posted a 2-over 146 in their first day of competition as Bearcats, holding a share of 22nd place. Playing as an individual, Charlie Farrell also enters Tuesday in a tie for 22nd.
Michael Brodie is tied for 57th and Garrett Atkinson sits in 84th.
The Bearcats will begin their final round at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow and will be grouped with USC Aiken and Newberry.
