Very sad news: a Lander University student died in a single-vehicle crash on Thursday night.
The accident occurred at 10 p.m. on Hwy 29 near Ware Shoals. The driver of a Ford Mustang ran off the road and hit a guardrail and monument, according to police.

James Logan Lusk, 19 years old, was a student at Lander University.
According to reports, Lusk was wearing a seat belt. Death was ruled as blunt force trauma, according to Cheek.
Lusk was studying at Lander with a goad of becoming a doctor. According to friend Lindsey Loparo, mass communications student and Vice President of Lander’s University Program Council, Logan worked in Enrollment, and he was always really friendly to everyone. He was an Orientation Leader last year, and he won People’s Choice for Mr. Lander last year. He loved Lander.”
