GREENWOOD – After a successful junior season with the Lander men’s soccer team, Jordan Skelton earned his second All-American accolade of the postseason when the Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) tabbed him as a third-team All-American.
Skelton is the first Bearcat to be named an All-American by two different organizations since Adam Arthur in 2006.
A defender from Newcastle, England, Skelton netted eight goals and accumulated 19 points on the season. Skelton’s defense surrended 1.18 goals per match on the year as the Bearcats shut out seven opponents. Excluding penalty kicks, Lander allowed just four goals in five postseason matches.
Skelton has accumlated several postseason accolades, including United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-American, D2CCA All-Southeast Region First Team, United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region First Team and First Team All-Peach Belt Conference.
The Bearcats finished the season with a 13-4-3 record, a second consecutive PBC regular season championship, the PBC Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Southeast Regional championship for the first time in four years.
