GREENWOOD – Junior defender Jordan Skelton (Newcastle, England) has been named to the United Soccer Coaches’ All-America Second Team, the organization announced on Wednesday night.

A first-team all-Peach Belt Conference and first-team all-Southeast Region selection, Skelton led a Lander defense that shut out seven opponents and allowed 1.18 goals per match. After netting just one goal in his first two seasons in Greenwood, the Bearcat captain finished 2017 tied for the team-lead with eight goals.

The four-time Peach Belt Conference Defender of the Week has made 54 career appearances, including 53 starts, and has helped lead Lander to a 41-11-6 record over the last three years. Skelton has also helped lead the program to back-to-back unbeaten regular season conference records and a PBC Tournament title.

Skelton is the 14th player to earn All-American honors in Lander men’s soccer history and second in as many seasons.
