Holiday Tree Lighting At Lander!
Every year at Lander University the schools hosts a holiday tree lighting. This event is in the Assembly Plaza from 5pm-8pm on November 28.2017. The event is highly anticipated by all Lander Students. There will be lots of activities including horse-drawn carriage rides, ice skating, ornament decorating, snow globe portraits, roasting marshmallows over an open fire, a competition to build the best gingerbread house and a contest for those who wish to show off their tackiest holiday sweaters and ties.
This year many different organizations were allowed to decorate their own trees to support their organization and be apart of the christmas lighting.
Also to give back to the community students are asked to bring an unwrapped toy for children ages 4-12 in support of Tommy Claus (no stuffed animals, please). Collection boxes will be available at the event. Donated toys will be delivered to needy children in the Lakelands area during the Christmas season. This event is also link 101 approved and there is also a wind ensemble performance to end the night at 8pm that is Fals approved.
