Aiken, S.C. – After claiming a statement non-conference win over No. 24-ranked Lincoln Memorial on Friday, the No. 15-ranked Lander women’s basketball team (1-0, 0-0 PBC) will look to add to its winning ways against Carson-Newman (1-0, 0-0 SAC). The matchup against the Eagles will take place Saturday at 2:00 p.m. inside the Abney Athletic Center.

- Carson-Newman won in its season opener on Friday against USC Aiken by a score of 121-76.
- The Eagles are led by junior guard Mika Wester who was selected to the Preseason First-Team All-SAC. Wester went for 22 points in the team’s win over USC Aiken on Friday.
- Lander and Carson-Newman met last year during the PBC/SAC Challenge on Nov. 12th. The Bearcats defeated the Eagles by a score of 68-53 in that meeting. Sophomore guardJessica Harris led the team with 19 points during that outing.
