Lander finishes 23rd in first Southeast Regional since 2008

Wingate, N.C. – The Lander women’s cross country team finished 23rd in the team’s first NCAA Southeast Regional since the year 2008. Freshman Catey Rithianos ran out front for the Bearcats for the fifth time this season with a 125th finish on a time of 27:34.

Freshman Allie Reynolds was the next fastest runner for the Bearcats with a time of 30:59 and a 146th place finish.

Freshmen Amanda Shackleton and Naila McConnell weren’t far behind with finishes of 151st and 154th on times of 31:54 and 34:56 respectively.

Freshmen Brooke Trotter and Emily Fletcher rounded out the group of Lander runners with finishes of 157th and 158th with times of 35:56 and 36:38.

Queens took home the Regional Championship with two of its runners finishing in the race’s top five.
