Fort Benning, Ga. – In the team’s first Peach Belt Championship since 2008, the Lander women’s cross country team finished 11th with a combined score of 321.
North Georgia, which had placed second in the team’s last three PBC Championships, took home the trophy on Saturday as five of its runners finished in the race’s top 12.
Freshman Allie Reynolds ran out front for the Bearcats for the third time this season with a finish of 74th and time of 22:32.
Juniors Amanda Shackleton and Naila McConnell finished two spots apart in 77th and 79th with times of 24:29 and 25:07 respectively.
Sophomores Brooke Trotter and Emily Fletcher rounded out the group of Lander runners with times of 26:03 and 28:45 with finishes of 77th and 85th respectively.
