GREENWOOD – Fresh off his five-save performance on Oct. 14 at No. 7 Young Harris, Lander men’s soccer goalkeeper Dean Cowdroy was named the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday, his second consecutive award and third of the season.
Cowdroy helped lead the No. 17 Bearcats to a 1-1 tie with the Mountain Lions on Saturday night. The sophomore from Canberra, Australia, played all 110 minutes in net, becoming the first PBC keeper to hold the Mountain Lions to just one goal in their last 14 conference games. Cowdroy is currently second in the PBC in goals-against average and minutes and is third in save percentage.
The weekly honor was the eighth of Cowdroy’s career.
