GREENWOOD – Lander Athletics and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee announced two community events to be held at its athletic facilities for the upcoming Halloween season. Both events are free and open to the public.
On Sunday, October 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Lander Athletics will host its 6th Annual Monster Bash and Halloween Walk at the Jeff May Complex. Festivities will include trick-or-treating, games, and a costume contest. The first 200 kids (12 years or younger) will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
On Tuesday, October 31, Lander Athletics will host a Halloween Costume Contest in conjunction with the Lander volleyball match against Emmanuel at Finis Horne Arena at 7:00 p.m. Free popcorn and drink vouchers will be provided to students, faculty, and staff with a valid Lander ID. Judging for the costume contest will begin at 6:30 with the winners being announced after Set 2 of the match (approximately 8:00 p.m.). Categories for the costume contest include, “Most Original”, “Scariest”, and “Most School Spirit”. Sports Break and Chick-fil-a are providing prizes up to $50 in value. The first 100 fans will be entered into a raffle to win one of the prizes.
Parents are asked to accompany their children for both events.
