GREENWOOD – Freshman Thibault Chretien was named the Peach Belt Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week after recording an assist and the game-winning goal in a 3-2 double-overtime victory over Flagler on Wednesday night (Sept. 20). Chretien is one of only two freshmen in the conference with multiple goals and assists this season.
Chretien’s game-winner helped the Bearcats remain unbeaten in PBC play on the year (5-2, 2-0 PBC). The freshman from Laval, France, helped Lander rally by finding Sam Lofts for the equalizer in the 63rd minute before scoring on a free kick in the 109th minute of play to give the Bearcats their 11th consecutive PBC win.
Lander is home on Wednesday (Sept. 27) to host Francis Marion at Van Taylor Stadium.
