Women’s cross country finishes 19th at Bulldog Stampede


Wingate, N.C. – The Lander women’s cross country team finished 19th at the 7th annual Bulldog Stampede. The invitational marked the Bearcats first 6K race of the season.

Catherine Rithianos paved the way for the Bearcats as the freshman finished 78th with a time of 28:18.

Hosting Wingate took home the team victory for the second consecutive year as the Bulldogs placed three runners in the top 10. Freshman Clementine Archinard headlined the Wingate runners with a time of 23:00 and a third-place finish.

Freshman Amanda Shackleton was the second place runner for Lander with a time of 34:36 and a finish of 120th overall.

Naila McConnell and Brooke Trotter finished just one second apart as the freshmen finished 127th and 128th with times of 37:44 and 37:35 respectively.

Freshman Emily Fletcher rounded out the group of Lander runners with a time of 41:18 and a finish of 132nd overall.
