Men’s soccer heads to Tusculum in search of first road win

Greeneville, Tenn. – After a 5-0 dismantling of rival Erskine on Wednesday, the Lander men’s soccer team (2-1) will once again hit the roads for a steep challenge against the Tusculum Pioneers (0-1-1) on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

STORYLINES:

• Freshman George Barmby and sophomore Sia Jamedar look to continue their exceptional play as the two attackers went for two goals each against Erskine on Wednesday.

• Junior Jordan Skelton impressed again on Wednesday, tallying his third goal on the season against Erskine while adding one assist. The Bearcat captain is making his presence known on the offensive side this season as Skelton is tied for the team lead with three goals.

• Tusculum entered the season ranked 23rd nationally, but fell out of the poll early after an opening game loss against unranked Barton.

• Tusculum looks to be back in preseason form ahead of Sunday’s contest as the Pioneers played 11th-ranked Young Harris to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday while playing a man down in the final 30 minutes.
