LU Bass Fishing Team Ready for Upcoming Season
By Blake Dickey
The Lander University Bass Fishing team is ready to follow up a good season last year with what they hope is another one this year. “We travel across the southeast and the country trying to catch the five biggest fish to put Lander on the map,” says team president Trevor Stewart.
Stewart is a senior at Lander who is also a staple on the LU fishing team. Stewart described what motivates them, “Our main goal is to qualify for the national championship next summer.”
The team has brought in 14 freshmen and 3 transfers for this upcoming season, according to Stewart. When asked if he was excited about the newcomers Trevor Stewart said, “absolutely we have a lot of young talent that could greatly contribute to the team.”
Stewart explained the schedule won’t be out until the end of the month. The LU Bass Fishing team is looking forward to the support of the community for this upcoming season.
