Accreditation Strikes Again in 1996!

By: Becca Watford

Lander University in March 1996 was going through their final steps of accreditation. Without our accreditation our university could be in bad shape. In 1996 they worked for three years before the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) visited and wrote their final reports on Lander University. This year we are repeating this final step of getting our reaccreditation and continuing to improve Bearcat Country, and make our university become even stronger as we continue to grow in numbers. This is a long and intense process that repeats every ten years, and we are thankful to everyone who has worked so hard now and in years past to keep our accreditation and university strong.
