No. 4 Bearcats triumphs over No. 11 Georgia College
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 4-ranked Lander men’s tennis team won all but one doubles match Sunday afternoon to claim an 8-1 Peach Belt Conference victory over No. 11 Georgia College at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.
The Bearcats improve to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the PBC, while Georgia College drops to 2-3, (1-2).
In singles, No. 1 David Korsten (LU) def. Christian Graff (GC) 6-3, 6-4; No. 2 Jules Vauthier (LU) def. Pedro Ecenarro (GC) 6-4, 2-6, 6-3; No. 3 Eirik Groner (LU) def. Anton Waern (GC) 6-3, 6-0; No. 4 Ozan Cildir (LU) def. Mattia Campus (GC) 6-3, 4-6, (10-7); No. 5 Alexandre Springer (LU) def. Kyle Kinsler (GC) 6-0, 6-3; and No. 6 Omar El-Moslemany) def. Nathan Connolly (GC) 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles, No. 1 Marc Hofer/El-Moslemany (LU) def. Kinsler/Graff (GC) 9-7; No. 2 Campus/Ecenarro (GC) def. Korsten/Groner (LU) 8-4; and No. 3 Vauthier/Cildir (LU) def. Waern/Connolly (GC) 8-5.
