No.19 Georgia College Women’s Tennis Downs Lander
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 19-ranked Georgia College women’s tennis team handed Lander its first loss of the season, 5-4, Sunday afternoon in a Peach Belt Conference match at the Centennial Center Tennis Courts.
Georgia College improves to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the PBC, while Lander drops to 4-1, (2-1).
In singles, No. 1 Macy Polk (GC) def. Yuriko Ono (LU) 3-6, 6-4, 6-2; No. 2 Jena Kelly (GC) def. Caroline Yodice (LU) 6-3, 6-0; No. 3 Ivanka Mocic (LU) def. Camilla Negrini (GC) 6-4, 6-4; No. 4 Hannah Serdinia (GC) def. Nelli Lius(LU) 6-3, 6-3; No. 5 Julia Suzuki (LU) def. Emma Niemi (GC) 6-3, 6-2; and No. 6 Isabella Schulz (LU) def. Kristen Jones (GC) 3-6, 4-1 (retired).
In doubles, No. 1 Kelly/Niemi (GC) def. Yodice/Schulz (LU) 8-1; No. 2 Ono/Lius (LU) def. Polk/Serdinia (GC) 8-2; and No. 3 Jones/Negrini (GC) def. Mocic/Suzuki (LU) 8-2.
