The Senior Recital of Matthew Bratton will take place at 8 pm on Tuesday, November 15. The senior recital is the big event for graduating music students. It is exciting, stressful, and is the showcase of everything they have learned while studying music at Lander.
Matthew Bratton had some comments to make about his upcoming recital. He said, “I said I wanted to do it this semester instead of next semester. This is because with graduation coming up, I would be too busy to do it then. Back to the recital though, I’m excited and nervous at the same time. It’s like my final exam for me as a senior music major. Yes, I will have some students accompanying me onstage as well as my jazz band Invictus but the spotlight is primarily on me.”
He continued, “As a percussionist, my stuff is more contemporary than classical. I do play two jazz songs in my recital, there is a kinda jazz piece that I will be playing. Hopefully there is a good turnout with all the advertising that has been done on and around campus.”
