GREENWOOD – The 13th Annual Martin-Sims Golf Classic will be held at the Greenwood Country Club next Thursday, October 20.

The tournament will feature a morning and afternoon shotgun start, with the morning starting at 8:30 and the afternoon starting at 1:30. Breakfast will be served around 7:30 and lunch will be served around 11:30.
Each team will consist of four players, who will play a captain’s choice format. Every team will be assigned a handicap, which will be based on the individual handicaps of the four players on the team and determined by using the formula recommended by the USGA for captain’s choice events. The maximum individual handicap allowed will be 24. All play will be net, in that each team’s handicap will be subtracted from its 18 hole gross score to determine the team’s 18 hole net score. The team with the lowest 18 hole net score will be the tournament winner.
Male players will play the following tees: 54 and under, white tees; 55-64, gold tees; 65 and up, blue tees; and all female players will play from the red tees.
Entry fee is $400 per team which includes green fees, cart fees, range balls, par 3 close-ups, breakfast and lunch. Each player will also receive a gift bag and is invited to stay for the post tournament gathering which includes the awards cermony, live music, beverages, food, and lots of fun.
