LAEYC is specifically for Early Childhood Education majors. Phillips stated that there are many benefits from joining LAEYC, “by joining LAEYC one will gain more experience in the Early Childhood field and have more opportunities to work with children.” Also, being an active member of LAEYC looks great on a resume.
If interested in joining LAEYC a person should fill out a membership form, which can be found on the bulletin board in the Education Department and pay the membership fee of $16 for the year.
Even if a person is not interested in joining LAEYC there are ways to still get involved. During October, LAEYC will be hosting a diaper drive to collect diapers and wipes for First Steps of Greenwood. Donations can be left in the diaper drive box in the Education Department. Also, Oct. 26 at 5 p.m., LAEYC will be hosting a Spirit Night at Moe’s Southwest Grill.
