Lander girls volleyball team falls at home to USC Aiken

GREENWOOD – The Lander volleyball team suffered a home defeat on Thursday night, falling 3-0 to USC Aiken in Horne Arena. Game scores were: 25-13, 25-16, 25-15.

USC Aiken improves to 11-3 overall and 4-2 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 10-4, (2-4).

Lander’s Halle Dotson led the Bearcats with 13 kills, while Sophia Perkins added a double-double with 19 assists and 12 digs. Kendall Korte recorded a team-high 31 digs for Lander.

The Pacers were led by Taylor Stratton (14 digs, 12 kills), Emily Teelon (36 assists) and Danielle Mercer (28 digs).

The Bearcats will next face Peach Belt Conference foe UNC Pembroke at 7:00 P.M., on Saturday, October 4, in Pembroke, N.C.
