Growing up in South Carolina one thing that you probably always heard is how South Carolina is either number one of in the top five of states with the highest rates of domestic violence. There have always been questions about how people can change these statistics, and if that is a question that you would be interested in answering then V.O.W is the group for you.

V.O.W, which is short for Vision of Women, is a group on Lander University’s campus that is dedicated to helping battered women and families. The group was started by former Lander University student DorLisa Evans.

The mission for V.O.W is to bring awareness to domestic violence by hosting various activities to help bring change. Last year V.O.W partnered with Beyond Abuse to help put on FALS approved event the Tunnel of Oppression and also helped donate clothing items to a variety of woman and children that were in need.

If you are interested in helping a group that wants to help fight against the abuse of women V.O.W is the group for you and if you need any more information feel free to message V.O.W’s current Vice President Lace Redd @ lace.redd@lander.edu
