At 2pm Wednesday, October 5th , David Rosenthal will be the guest speaker in the Barksdale Recital Hall. This event is FALS approved and sponsored by Lander University Mass Communications professor, Monique Sacay-Bagwell.

A graduate of Berklee School of Music, Rosenthal is a man of many talents.

“He’s not just a performer, he’s a coach, he’s a director, so he wears different hats,” exclaims Sacay-Bagwell.

These many hats also include musical director, keyboardist, synth programmer and orchestrator. Rosenthal has worked with a host of musicians. These musicians include Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Enrique Iglesias, Robert Palmer, Whitesnake, Steve Vai, Ritchie Blackmore and Rainbow, Cyndi Lauper, Yngwie Malmsteen, Little Steven and Ethan Bortnick.

This fall, Voice Over Series events have been included in the FALS approved events.

“I thought it would be a nice way to introduce the changes in our program. We’ve gone from the Mass Comm and Theatre to now Mass Comm and Media Studies,” says Sacay-Bagwell.

Lander University now offers a voice over acting class, THTR 301. Sacay-Bagwell expressed that this class has been drawing the interest of many non-majors, community members and even senior citizens. However, THTR 301 Voice Over Acting Techniques is a closed course only for Mass Communications majors.
