COLUMBUS, Ga. – Michal Pospisil defeated Point’s Francisco Oliveira on the ninth sudden death hole to medal as the Lander golf team finished second out of 14 teams Tuesday in the two-day, three-round Cougar Invitational hosted by Columbus State University at the par-71, 6,515-yard Country Club of Columbus.
Pospisil shot a 4-under 209 (70-68-71) for the tournament. Oliveria finished second, followed by Lee’s Shea Sylvester and North Alabama’s Patrick Twesme at 210
Lander’s Conor Richards tied for fifth at 211 (65-72-74); James Bartlett tied for 19th at 215 (68-73-74); and Michael Brodie tied for 27th at 217 (74-75-68).
North Alabama claimed the team title with a low 845 (285-281-279) and was followed by: 2. Lander 849, 3. Lee 855, 4. Florida Tech 857, 5. Valdosta State 863, 6. Columbus State 864, 7.
