Volleyball defeats Belmont Abbey, L-R to stay unbeaten

AIKEN, S.C. – The Lander volleyball team continued its winning ways with two victories on Friday at the USC Aiken Invitational. Lander swept Belmont Abbey, 3-0,  then defeated Lenoir-Rhyne, 3-1.

Lander defeated Belmont Abbey, 25-20, 28-26, 25-21, and topped Lenoir-Rhyne 25-23, 25-13, 20-25, 25-23.

Against Belmont Abbey, reigning PBC Player of the Week Halle Dotson led the Bearcat attack with 16 kills. Dale Rogers registerd a career-high 10 kills, while Kendall Korte and Maddie Naal added 17 and 11 digs, respectively. The Crusaders, who lost to Lander last weekend in five sets, were led by Mackenzie Chrapliwy’s double-double of 12 kills and 13 digs.

Against Lenoir-Rhyne, a team Lander swept last weekend, Korte recorded a career-high 29 digs, whil Rogers and Khiani Kelly led the Bearcats with 13 kills each. Lenoir-Rhyne was led by Brandi Thomas’ 14 kills and 12 digs.

Lander faces Eckard and Mount Olive on Saturday.
