The Lander Bearcats head softball coach, Glen Crawford, is getting ready to hit the field. Crawford was excited as he described the Lady Bearcats’ upcoming season.
“I’m looking forward to getting better, getting in shape, and getting stronger and faster. I really hope to stand out [this season].”
Crawford said he holds high expectations for his team for the upcoming 2017 season. This fall he is aiming to get better fundamentally in hitting, fielding, base running, and pitching.
“I am just ready to watch these girls show their talents” Crawford stated. He said he feels as though the future for the Lady Bearcats is promising, and he is holding high expectations.
Crawford continued, “Our goal is to win the Peach Belt Conference championship, and once we have accomplished that, we want to be at regionals.”
The city of Greenwood can expect another great season from the Lady Bearcats after their appearance in the conference tournament last season. The Bearcats are patiently waiting for their fall season to tee off in just a few short weeks.
