Introducing our new Freshmen Academic Success Advisors!
Lander is very excited to announce that this year we have three new staff members joining the Academic Success Center, who will serve as Academic Success Advisors for any first-year student beginning their educational journey here at our university. They have worked hard preparing for the new semester, and familiarizing themselves with our educational programs and curriculum.
Mr. Patrick Nugent is a recent graduate of Lander University, with a degree in History. Mr. Nugent served in the Academic Success Center while he was a student, and is thrilled to join the staff in this new role, shaping and guiding the educational journey of incoming students. He is working with new students in the College of Arts and Humanities, and the College of Education.
Ms. Sarah Parks is also a graduate of Lander University, with a degree in Exercise Science. Ms. Parks worked as a corrective exercise specialist at a physical therapy clinic after graduating with her degree, and continued to be do research at Lander with the Physical Education and Exercise Science Department. She is excited to return to her alma mater to serve students as an advisor and will be working with new students in the School of Nursing, and all Undecided students.
Ms. Rebecca O’Donnell is a recent graduate of Geneva College, with a Master’s degree in Higher Education, and completed her undergraduate work at the University of Akron. Ms. O’Donnell spent the past two years working in Christian Higher Education, and worked with students in Multicultural Affairs, as well as coaching students on academic probation. She is working with new students in the College of Science and Mathematics, and the College of Business and Public Affairs.
