Sunday marks the grand opening for the Grace Street park. The park will officially open and celebrate the volunteers and supporters that have contributed to the re-creation of the park. The celebration is sponsored by the Greater Greenwood Parks and Trails Foundation which has served to locate and create green spaces and parks in Greenwood county. The event will commemorate the official opening of the Natural Playground, Dog Park, and Fuji Pavilion. The grand opening beginnings at 3:00 PM with followed by a ribbon cutting, a presentation of the park’s installations, light refreshments, and fall-themed dog park celebrations.
The last leg of the park has yet to be completed and needs community help through donations and volunteer work to finish a place that both dogs and humans alike will enjoy. There will be a costume contest ($2 entry fee), raffle prizes, and fall photo shoots for you and your furry friends to ensure your donations are put to good use. The Greenwood Parks and Trails Foundation will also have special deals on embroidered hats, water bottles, hats, and engraved bricks for sale to raise funds for the dog park.
Make sure you go out and support your local community parks by attending this event and enjoy the surprisingly warm fall weather while it last.
